DISARM: herramienta de la UE contra los incendios forestales

24.07.2020. El equipo de bomberos de Grecia cuenta con DISARM, un proyecto europeo para prevenir, tratar y mitigar el impacto de la sequía y los incendios forestales. DISARM proporciona herramientas para un sistema de alerta temprana, que facilita la tarea de los equipos de rescate y bomberos.

La jefa de bomberos, Zisoula Ntasiou, explica que años atrás “no era posible enviar fotos y videos sobre el terreno. Por lo tanto, el jefe de equipo no tenía la información que necesitaba. Pero ahora podemos enviar videos y fotos y, lo que es más importante, tenemos este modelo de predictivo del fuego que muestra el curso del incendio”, según Euronews.

Presupuesto de DISARM: 1.028.547 €, el 85 % lo cubre la Política de cohesión de la UE y el 15% son fondos nacionales de Grecia, Bulgaria y Chipre (los tres países que participan en el proyecto).

DISARM: EU tool against forest fires

24.07.2020. Greece’s fire team has DISARM, a European project to prevent, treat and mitigate the impact of drought and forest fires. DISARM provides tools for an early warning system, which facilitates the task of rescue teams and firefighters.

Fire chief Zisoula Ntasiou explains that years ago “it was not possible to send photos and videos on the ground. Therefore, the team leader did not have the information he needed. But now we can send videos and photos and, most importantly, we have this fire prediction model that shows the course of the fire,” according to Euronews.

DISARM’s budget is ?1,028,547, 85% of which is covered by the EU’s cohesion policy and 15% by the national funds of Greece, Bulgaria and Cyprus (the three countries participating in the project).
